Mum and I (Virginia and Georgina Thompson) are aiming to raise $5000 for Project Futures, an organisation dedicated to combating human trafficking and sexual exploitation in Australia and South-East Asia. At the end of September 2014 we are taking part in a 10 day "schools cycle challenge" where we must raise money and ride approximately 350 km across the Cambodian countryside. We would greatly appreciate any contribution you could make. 100% of your donation will go directly to support the victims of the sex trade indusrty in Cambodia.

We will be visiting a Cambodian non governmental organisation (AFESIP) which rescues, rehabilitates and re-integrates women and children who have been rescued from forced sexual servitude. These centres are so important, as In the Mekong sub-region of Southeast Asia, approximately 30 percent of sex workers are between 12-17 years old (UNICEF, 2009).

A little over $50 can purchase the hygiene supplies handed out in the red light districts during an average fortnight of outreach activities

$100 can provide a survivor of sex trafficking with 2 months worth of nutritious meals with meat, vegetables, and rice

$250 can support vocational training in beauty skills and hairdressing for one month in a Lao shelter

$3,000 can support the costs of gas, coal, and wood to keep a AFESIP shelter warm and keep a kitchen functioning for one year
