Lou and Bec's Cambodia Cycling Challenge
Story
Mum and I are really hoping to make a difference to the lives of other girls and women.
In July 2014 we will be cycling through Cambodia supporting the not for profit organisation Project Futures. As part of the School Cycle Challenge we will be cycling from 30km to 90km per day over 8 days. Around 400km in total!
We hope to inspire you to make a contribution – think of our aching butts - which we will donate in full to Project Futures. All funds raised for Project Futures will go to support victim services, rehabilitation, education and survivor empowerment.
As part of our life-changing journey we will visit a Somaly Mam shelter in Cambodia to see and hopefully contribute further to the support programs in place.
A few facts: 79% of human trafficking victims are women and girls, furthermore 79% of the victims of trafficking end up in sex slavery. It is estimated that approximately 1.2 million children are trafficked domestically or across borders each year, so you can see it is essential that funds are raised and directed to support the victims.
We thank you for your generosity and support in helping us reach our goal.
Lou and Bec
